455-Powered 1968 Pontiac GTO Hardtop Coupe 4-Speed

This 1968 Pontiac GTO hardtop coupe was originally delivered to Seifert Pontiac of Denver, Colorado and was acquired by the current owner in 2011. It is finished in Aleutian Blue over a blue interior and is powered by a replacement 455ci V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes power steering, chrome bumpers, dual hood scoops, 15” Rally II wheels, a cup holder, a Hurst shifter, a push-button AM radio, and an 8-track player. This GTO is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a window sticker, factory literature, partial service records, the removed 400ci V8, PHS documentation, and Alabama registration.

The car was finished from the factory in Aleutian Blue and reportedly received a repaint in 2005. Exterior features include quad headlamps, chrome bumpers, a driver-side rear-view mirror, dual hood scoops, Soft-Ray tinted glass, a dual exhaust system, and GTO graphics on the rear quarter panels. A paint blister is evident on the left-front fender.

Factory 15” Rally II wheels feature PMD center caps and are mounted with 215/65 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering and hydraulic drums at each corner.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in blue vinyl upholstery along with matching door panels and lighter blue carpeting. The center console was re-trimmed and modified with a cupholder during current ownership, and amenities include a Hurst shifter, a push-button AM radio, and an 8-track player. The headliner was reportedly replaced in 2003.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a multi-function gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 29k miles, though total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 455ci V8 was reportedly installed approximately 15 years ago and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. An oil change and tune-up are said to have been performed during the summer of 2022.

The window sticker shows initial delivery to Seifert Pontiac of Denver, Colorado and lists standard equipment, options, colors, and a total price of $3,900.76. An owner’s manual, warranty information, and partial service records are also included in the sale.

The removed 400ci V8 accompanies the vehicle, though it is said to be in need of a rebuild.

The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its registration.
