Delhi weather: City records minimum temp of 6.8 degrees Celsius

NEW DELHI: Delhi saw a negligible rise in the minimum temperature on Tuesday. At 6.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal, it was the second coldest day of the season. The minimum temperature on Monday was 6.5 degree Celsius, the lowest of the season so far.
Meanwhile, the city saw an increase in the pollution level, which continued to stay within the very poor category.
The air quality index (AQI), on a scale of 0 to 500, was 355 as against 317 a day earlier.
The skies were clear with shallow fog in the morning. The maximum temperature on Tuesday was 24.8 degrees Celsius, same as a day earlier. The maximum and minimum temperatures on Wednesday are likely to hover around 25 and 7 degrees Celsius, respectively. According to the weather department, there is a possibility of moderate fog during morning hours.
According to the IITM's air quality early warning system, the air quality may remain in the very poor category from Thursday to Sunday. A slight improvement is expected next week. TNN
