Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways

Ever since the Resident Evil 4 remake launched earlier this year, fans have been crossing their fingers that Separate Ways, the side story featuring Ada Wong from the original version of the game, would also make the translation. Well, sure enough, today during the most recent State of Play showcase Capcom announced Separate Ways is coming our way… next week! But that’s not all – Separate Ways will launch alongside a free Mercenaries mode update that adds Ada Wong and Wesker as playable characters. On top of all that, Capcom also announced that a Resident Evil 4 VR mode will be launching on PS VR2 as a free update sometime this “winter.” You can check out a trailer for all that stuff, below.

Need to know more about the new version of Separate Ways? In addition to showing a new side to RE4’s story, the game DLC will allow you to get around with a grappling gun. Here’s a bit more Separate Ways info courtesy of Capcom

“Separate Ways tells the story of Ada Wong and her parallel journey through the events of Resident Evil 4, filling in unanswered questions from the main story. The full story will be revealed as you view both sides of events from both Ada and Leon’s viewpoints.

Ada Wong clutches a mysterious vial. With her back to the camera, Ada Wong stands atop a wall, looking out over the surroundings below. Before Leon S. Kennedy had even set foot in that cursed village, she was already there. Her mission? The retrieval of the cult’s darkest secret -- the Amber.

Now Ada must deal with an unknown threat that is devouring her from within, an accomplice with a dark past and ulterior motives, and a chance reunion with the man she least expected -- Leon S. Kennedy. Why did she accept this mission? And what path will she make for herself in the shadow of Leon’s investigation into the abduction of the president’s daughter?”

The Resident Evil 4 remake can be played on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. The Separate Ways DLC will set you back $10 and will launch alongside the new Mercenaries content on September 21.
