McLaren and Richard Mille's watch deal

Maybe that's one of the reasons to choose McLaren as a driver, because then you get to wear Richard Mille 's watches during your time as a driver with these guys. They don't have to do it for performance, it turns out, because McLaren has been underperforming in the 2023 season. Luckily for us, the 2024 season is right around the corner! With the drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, they have two young talents under their care, who should be able to get some wins this season. Let’s take a look at the RM’s they are wearing!

10-year sponsorship deal

You often see, also in Formula 1, that a sponsorship deal lasts for one or two seasons. However, that's a different story when we look at Richard Mille and McLaren's sponsorship deal: in 2017 they signed an agreement for no less than 10 years, until the 2027 season. And that is of course quite a great collaboration. Richard Mille not only sponsors the McLaren racing team, but is also very active with sponsorship at Ferrari.

What watch are Piastri and Norris wearing?

The two young drivers from McLaren are of course regularly spotted with a Richard Mille on their wrist: these watches are certainly worn after the races in order to contribute to Richard Mille's name recognition on TV. Which watch is that? That is the Richard Mille RM50-03 McLaren F1 edition, with an orange strap, a transparent dial with a chronograph function and of course finished in carbon, because that is of course unavoidable in motorsport. The watch is quite similar to the RM50-04 from Ferrari, with the colors being slightly different of course.

How much does a Richard Mille watch cost?

Don't be alarmed, but Richard Mille watches are virtually unaffordable for most people.
