North Tower Blueprints
World Trade Center Architectural Drawings Released by Whistleblower
In March of 2007, detailed architectural drawings for portions of the World Trade Center were sent to Steven E Jones, and subsequently published on a number of websites. 9-11 Research provides two methods for viewing the drawings:
- A user-friendly multi-resolution viewer
- A complete table listing
The graphic documents, numbering 261, are high-resolution scans of blueprints that include detailed floor plans and elevations of the North Tower, structural details of the hat truss and TV mast, and plans of the foundation and basement levels of the World Trade Center complex. Most of the drawings are dated August 31, 1967.
The drawings go a long way towards answering the call for release of building blueprints publicized in earlier versions of the 9-11 Research blueprints page. The drawings corroborate inferences about the core structures of the Twin Towers earlier made by 9-11 Research on the basis of construction photographs and descriptions in contemporaneous issues of the Engineering News Record.
