This document camera is an all around great option! It has a light with 3 modes which allows you to brighten documents as needed. The auto focus button does a great job of making the document clear on the screen. I love that I am able to zoom in as needed by pushing the camera down and having the ability to rotate the camera if needed. Software using Google Chrome works, but it is nothing fancy.

The Aver document camera is an outstanding product. I was immediately able to plug in my Aver and begin using it. Then I found the app that lets you do so much more. I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. I could write on the screen for books that I was sharing with my students and even take photos of those screens if I wanted to. The clarity was amazing. I have always struggled with using my personal books off of my bookshelf with my students, but with this tool, I absolutely can. I found the autofocus to not work as well with the plug-in option, but as soon as downloaded the app and shared my screen, it was beyond perfect. Thank you Aver for creating a product that allows me to do my job so well.

I am unable to give AVer any stars for their products or customer service. I recently purchased this camera to use in my classroom and upon the second use, the camera was inoperable. The software would not work and the camera would not power on. The camera was purchased on 2/5/23 and the warranty expired on 11/30/22. This business is not reputable. I may as well have burned $90.00.

My beloved HoverCam Solo 8+ stopped working with my MacBook Pro as soon as I updated to the latest version of Mac OS. Repeated contacts with the tekkies at HoverCam proved futile so I needed a quick alternative to finish teaching my spring semester university ZOOM classes. For about 1/4 the price of the HoverCam, this Aver M5 fit the bill and the tech support folks actually returned my emails ... the next day! The Aver M5 is not in the same league with the Solo 8+, not nearly the resolution with a noticeably noiser image , much lighter build quality, no manual zoom feature on the base of the camera, a smaller range of articulation of the arm ... but it works! At about $100 vs. $400 for the now non-functional HoverCam, it's a bargain!
