2019 VW Beetle

The Volkswagen Beetle is an iconic car that can trace its roots back to 1938. It’s amazing how no matter the evolution of the Beetle’s design over the years, this model has maintained its sleek, compact look. However, just because today’s version looks similar to its predecessors doesn’t mean it drives the same. In fact, you’d be surprised at the sheer power and performance behind the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle.

Let’s take a closer look.

A Closer Look at the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle

The 2019 Beetle is a classic example of why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. It may look small, but once you check under the hood, you’ll be surprised at the power Volkswagen has instilled in this compact vehicle.

It starts with a turbocharged 2.0L TSI engine that delivers 174 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, making your ride fast and fun. The Beetle comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which makes gear changes much smoother, and acceleration much better. Want more control? No problem. Shift into manual via the Tiptronic® mode, or go the extra mile and change into Sport mode. You can say goodbye to gas-guzzlers with the new Beetle. It posts an estimated 33 mpg in fuel economy on the highway and 26 mpg in the city.

The 2019 Volkswagen Beetle isn’t just about performance, though. It’s also about safety. This newest model comes packed with several features to help you stay safe on the road. With the rearview camera system, you can rest assured knowing that you’ve got the blind spots behind you covered. In the event of a crash, the Beetle’s rigid safety cage design absorbs energy and deflects it away from the driver and passengers. The Intelligent Crash Response System also deploys airbags, turns off the fuel pump, and unlocks the doors.

There are seven stability-enhancing systems packed into the Beetle, including Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution, which maintains the right stopping power during hard-brakes. The Beetle’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System monitors the air pressure in your tires and alerts you when levels are low enough to pose a problem.
