Backstory
Construction on the 88-storey skyscrapers commenced in 1993 and involved the largest and longest concrete pour in Malaysian history. Upon completion in 1998, the towers held the record for the tallest buildings in the world. They were surpassed by Taiwan’s Taipei 101 in 2004.
